Geron and I met at Captain Shreve High School in 2017. We were friends, but being two grades apart, we weren't very close. However, that changed when Geron lost his dad in July. Since I had been through the same thing at such a young age, we became inseparable. Our similar tragedies built such a strong foundation for our young relationship that it was never a question if we'd attempt long distance when I moved to Tuscaloosa for college in August of 2018. Six years later and we are counting down the days until we are married and live in the same city once again!

Geron signed with Rice University his senior year. We were so nervous about the distance growing next year, but still had no doubts about our relationship.

COVID hit right before Geron graduated high school. With a move to Houston quickly approaching, we cherished this time at home together so much. There were a couple escapes this summer to our favorite place, Lake Ouachita, while COVID quarantine requirements were still so strict at home.

We moved Geron to Houston and said the hardest goodbye. Little did I know how special this city would become to us when I left that day. I spent all my weekends (and a lot of my money!) getting flights to Houston to visit as often as I could. It was so hard to say goodbye every time, but looking back, these are the sweetest memories.

We planned a last minute getaway to NYC when we both had a free weekend. We made the best memories in the 36 hours we were there!
